AceShowbiz - Bella Ramsey and Ariana DeBose apparently have squashed their beef. The two stars were pictured sharing a hug while attending the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, January 15 after Bella made a shady joke about Ariana during the Critics' Choice Awards the day before.
In a new picture, Bella and Ariana could be seen embracing each other inside the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. "The Last of Us" star, who rocked a black blazer and matching pants, hugged the Broadway star so tight as the "West Side Story" star reciprocated the warm gesture.
The tension between the two started after Bella, who uses the pronouns they/them, and Anthony Ramos made a joke at Ariana's expense while they presented the ceremony's award for best song at the 2024 Critics' Choice Awards. As the "Game of Thrones" alum listed off the "famous voices" in the category, they read the names of Billie Eilish, Lenny Kravitz and Dua Lipa.
The 20-year-old later joked, "And there are the actors who also think that they're singers: Jack Black, Ariana DeBose, Ryan Gosling." When the camera panned to Ariana, the "Wish" voice actor looked unimpressed by the joke, while Ryan was seen laughing at the shady comment.
Ariana made it clear that she's not a fan of the joke in an Instagram post. "No I didn't find it funny. Lol," she wrote on her Instagram Story about Bella's remark.
Amid the drama, fans took to social media to defend Ariana. "If you think Ariana DeBose is an 'actor who thinks she's a singer,' you are so wrong it's embarrassing," one user tweeted. "Ariana DeBose, Oscar award winning, Tony nominated, OG cast member of Hamilton on BROADWAY…. 'THINKS she's a singer'?!? Who wrote this bit?! I want names #CriticsChoiceAwards," another fan fumed.
"imagine saying that about ariana WHO WAS ON BROADWAY!!! AND WON MULTIPLE AWARDS WITH HER COMPANY," someone else wrote. Jamie Lee Curtis was also among those who showed love to Ariana as she stressed, "Are you f**king kidding me! Ariana DeBose is a queen. #backthef**koff #shutthef**kup."
