The 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' actor voices his appreciation to his 'lovely' wife for her 'support' as he receives the Career Achievement award at the 29th annual event.

AceShowbiz - Harrison Ford has gone emotional during a speech. Having been honored with the Career Achievement award at the 2024 Critics' Choice Awards, the "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" actor thanked his wife Calista Flockhart in a heartfelt tribute.

On Sunday, January 14, the 81-year-old actor shared a sweet kiss with the 59-year-old actress at the 29th annual event, which took place at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. He then received a standing ovation from the star-studded audience as a video highlighting several of his biggest film successes was played.

During his speech, Harrison said, "First of all, I'm really happy to be here tonight to see what our business is turning into, and all of the talented people who are getting opportunities that probably wouldn't have existed in the early part of my career. I'm here because of a combination of luck and the work of wonderful writers, directors and filmmakers. I feel enormously lucky. I'm happy for this honor, and I appreciate it very much."

The "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" actor went on to praise Calista, "I want to thank my lovely wife, Calista Flockhart, who supports me when I need a lot of support. And I need a lot of support." While he mentioned her name, his wife appeared tearful as she proudly watched him from her seat and flashed her radiant smile.

Harrison further shared his gratitude in his speech, "I'm deeply happy to have had the opportunities that I've had, and I'm grateful." Before leaving the stage, he concluded, "I won't take any more of your time. Thank you."

Harrison was presented with the award by "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" director James Mangold. At one point, James even called the actor a "hypergiant star." The filmmaker stated, "A hypergiant is so big that 5 billion of our suns can be contained within it, and they're so weighty that they pull other heavenly bodies toward them."

"Of course, Harrison Ford is a star, but I submit tonight that he is a variable hypergiant," James continued. "A star so big, he contains multitudes. A star so unique he attracts other stars, a star so bright he has warmed each of our lives in this room, in our audience and, likely, on this planet."
