The standup comedian faces backlash over his failed jokes at the 81st annual event, which took place on Sunday, January 7 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - Deidre Hall is seemingly not a fan of Jo Koy's jokes. The "Days of Our Lives" star made use of her social media account to share a harsh criticism against the stand-up comedian for how he hosted the 81st Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 7.

"The Globes Globes host, jo koy, is a complete embarrassment to himself and the Academy," the 76-year-old actress, who plays Dr. Marlena Evans on the long-running soap, wrote in a scathing Facebook post on Sunday. "Skip it."

Jo Koy faced backlash over his failed jokes at the 81st annual event, which took place at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. During his monologue, he poked fun at Taylor Swift and her romance with NFL star Travis Kelce, saying, "We came on after a football doubleheader. The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL… On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift."

When the camera panned at the "Anti-Hero" hitmaker, the singer could be seen unimpressed by the joke. Instead of laughing at the gag, she took a sip of her champagne instead.

Another joke that fell flat was about "Oppenheimer", Christopher Nolan-directed movie that dominated the event with 5 wins. He told the audience, "The minute I signed the contract… I locked myself in a room and started binge-watching everything. While my family was clinking champagne glasses and ringing in the New Year, my family was watching 'Oppenheimer'. I loved 'Oppenheimer'."

"I just got one complaint: [It] needed another hour, because I felt like it needed some more backstory. My New Year's resolution for 2024 is to finish 'Oppenheimer' in 2025. I love 'Oppenheimer ' - especially the first season," he continued. The camera then cut to director Christopher looking unimpressed as Jo added, "That's so stupid…" The host was also booed when he joked about "Barbie".

Defending himself, Jo blamed the writing team. He said, "Some I wrote, some other people wrote. Yo, I got the gig ten days ago! You want a perfect monologue? Shut up! You're kidding me, right? I wrote some of these, and they're the ones you're laughing at."
