When speaking of what drew him to the psychological thriller, the 'Euphoria' star says that he suggested Emerald Fennell to cast Barry Keoghan instead of the 'Wonka' actor as Oliver.

AceShowbiz - Timothee Chalamet could have starred in "Saltburn", according to Jacob Elordi. The "Euphoria" star has revealed that director Emerald Fennell almost cast the American-French actor in the lead role for the physical thriller, but he made the filmmaker change her mind.

Speaking to British Vogue after the release of the critically-acclaimed film, the 26-year-old claimed that he suggested Fennell to cast Barry Keoghan instead of the "Dune: Part Two" actor as Oliver Quick. In the interview, he and Keoghan discussed what drew them to the movie.

Keoghan first shared, "When I met Emerald, she told me that she had you kind of down to do it. So, Emerald, yourself and the script." He went on to ask Elordi, "What about you?"

The "Priscilla" star responded, "Definitely yeah, it was Emerald. Then she said she wanted Timothee Chalamet for it." He then added, "And I said have you thought about Barry Keoghan?"

Keoghan laughed at Elordi's remarks, so it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old was being serious or he made the comments about the Chalamet casting in jest.

Elordi and Keoghan ended up stealing the spotlight with their performances in "Saltburn". Recently, it was reported that a racy scene featuring Elordi's Felix Catton has inspired scented candle. Labeled as "Jacob Elordi's Bathwater", the candle is available on Etsy for $26 and Amazon for $36. "There's nothing quite like the smell of a quality candle, particularly when that smell is inspired by Jacob Elordi and what we imagine His Highness to smell like," the product description reads.

The scene in question features Elordi's character masturbating in a bathtub as Oliver watches. Oliver later lustfully drinks the semen-laced bathwater.

The movie has received several accolades and nominations, including two nominations at the 81st Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor (Keoghan) and Best Supporting Actress (Rosamund Pike). Elordi is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the AACTA International Awards.
