'The First Omen' Unveils Ominous 1st Teaser Trailer

The prequel to the 1976 horror classic, 'The Omen', follows a young woman sent to Rome who uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.

AceShowbiz - Witness the birth of something evil in the first teaser trailer of "The First Omen". A courtesy of 20th Century Studios, the first footage of the movie hints at the chilling plot of the birth of the Antichrist in Rome.

Set to Fever Ray's "If I Had a Heart", the video features some scenes played in reverse. A girl appears to be a victim of sinister medical experiment, with the sign of Antichrist (666) seen on the roof of her mouth as she screams in agony.

Nell Tiger Free stars as Margaret, whose past is shown in flashback. Bill Nighy is featured as a priest who appears to be the mastermind of the evil conspiracy. There's a look at a car crash, a woman wearing what looks like a wedding dress and a sex scene.

The scenes are interspersed with a tagline that reads, "To control those who don't believe, create something to fear." Meanwhile, a man's voice is heard toward the end of the video, "You don't have to be afraid. This child is his way."

According to official synopsis, "When a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate."

Tawfeek Barhom, Sonia Braga and Ralph Ineson also star in the psychological thriller. Arkasha Stevenson serves behind the lens and penned the script along with Tim Smith and Keith Thomas. It's written based on characters created by David Seltzer with a story by Ben Jacoby.

The movie marks Stevenson's feature directorial debut, with David S. Goyer, Keith Levine and Gracie Wheelan serving as producers under the Phantom Four label. Smith also serves as an executive producer.

"The First Omen" serves as a prequel to the horror classic, "The Omen", which starred Gregory Peck as an ambassador who believes his 5-year-old son may in fact be the living embodiment of the Antichrist.
