The 'Bare Wit Me' songstress also makes it clear that 'everyone claiming 'Teyana said' didn't get any statements directly' from her, instead, those statements were taken from 'private court documents that were leaked to the public.'

AceShowbiz - Teyana Taylor was heartbroken that her divorce from Iman Shumpert was made public. In a message to her social media followers, the "Bare With Me" singer appealed for privacy.

"I mind my business, don't bother nobody & y'all know I've never played about my children, family & our privacy," the 32-year-old began her lengthy statement shared on Instagram Story on Friday, November 24. "I have not spoken on this private matter to any media outlets or blogs etc."

"So everyone claiming 'Teyana said' didn't get any statements directly from ME. These statements were taken from private court documents that were leaked to the public," the musician added. "It is very heartbreaking that someone would take out the time to make such a private matter public for the world to see."

Teyana went on to note, "However, Protecting my family is one thing I've ALWAYS done & for my children I will continue to do so. Please if y'all love y'all play nieces Junie & Rue like y'all have shown, please allow my self & my family some privacy to resolve this matter in peace." She concluded her post by saying, "Love y'all."

Teyana filed for divorce from Iman months before she confirmed their separation in September. According to TMZ, the multi-talented star submitted the divorce papers in Georgia back in January.

In the docs, the artist accused the professional basketball player of "extreme narcissistic behavior" and being jealous of her fame. She said her ex would feel insecure about being good enough for her, despite the fact that he was earning way more playing basketball than she could ever dream of making in music.

Teyana noted that when Iman signed a $40 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015 and was paid $8 million by the New York Knicks, he remained aggravated by her notoriety and jealous of her acting career. The athlete allegedly would grow annoyed when they attended public events together and photographers asked for him to step out of frame.

Iman himself has issued a statement through his lawyer regarding the divorce. Stephen C. Steele shared the statement with TMZ, "Mr. Shumpert hopes parties and counsel can work toward a fair resolution, keeping the best interests of the children of paramount concern."
