AceShowbiz - Lainey Wilson came out as the biggest winner at the 57th Annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. At the ceremony which took place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday, November 8, the country music star nabbed five awards after leading the nominations with nine.
The 31-year-old took home the coveted awards for Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year. She's also named Female Vocalist of the Year, while the Male Vocalist of the Year title went to Chris Stapleton.
Wilson bagged two other trophies through her collaboration with HARDY, "Wait in the Truck". The song earned both artists awards for Music Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year.
Jelly Roll was feted as best New Artist of the Year, beating out Zach Bryan, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney and Hailey Whitters for the honor. Vocal Group of the Year award went to Old Dominion, while Vocal Duo of the Year was won by Brothers Osborne.
Other winners included Luke Combs for Single of the Year, Tracy Chapman for Song of the Year, and Jenee Fleenor who was named Musician of the Year. Darius Rucker was presented with Humanitarian Award, while Jeannie Seely received Joe Talbot Award.
The 2023 CMA Awards was hosted by Luke Bryan with Peyton Manning and was broadcast live on ABC. It's also available to stream on Hulu. Musical performers included Jelly Roll, Wynonna Judd, Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay and Kelsea Ballerini among others, with Kenny Chesney joining forces with Mac McAnally, Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band and Coral Reefer Band for a tribute performance to Jimmy Buffett.
On the red carpet, meanwhile, Kelsea Ballerini brought her man Chase Stokes. The couple put on a loved-up display as they posed for photographers.
