When opening up about her health battle in an interview, the 36-year-old 'Selling Sunset' star reveals that she 'was exhausted all the time and no amount of sleep could make it better.'

AceShowbiz - Heather Rae Young revealed that she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease after giving birth to her child earlier this year. Although she felt like she was "dead" when suffering from the autoimmune disease, the "Selling Sunset" star said she's now feeling so "much better."

The 36-year-old opened up about her health battle when speaking to TODAY.com. "I remember saying to my assistant, 'I feel like I'm dead," she first said. "My body was so tired. I was exhausted all the time and no amount of sleep could make it better."

Heather went on to note, "Filming was absolutely brutal because I could barely get out of bed." Revealing that she had experienced severe symptoms at four months postpartum after noticing a dramatic drop in her milk supply, she said dismissed them because she thought she was "probably just foggy because of mom brain."

Heather divulged that she decided to check herself up because she was unable to produce enough milk for her son. "When she told me what I had, I was in total shock," the TV personality recalled the moment she received the diagnosis.

Luckily, Heather is now "feeling much better" after she was given medication to treat her illness.

Heather and husband Tarek El-Moussa welcomed their first child in January. When announcing the great news, the proud parents wrote on Instagram, "Our baby boy is here [white heart emoji] 1.31.23... Mama & baby are happy, healthy, tired but doing well. Our hearts are so happy [red heart emoji]."
