AceShowbiz - "SpongeBob SquarePants" star's wife has spoken up after the Internet confused her husband with Ethan Slater, who is rumored to be in a relationship with Ariana Grande. After the dating rumors spread online, Jill Talley has set the record straight that her husband Tom Kenny is not dating the former Nickelodeon star.
Jill is married to Tom, who voices the iconic sponge character on the "SpongeBob SquarePants" TV series. Meanwhile, Ethan played the character in the Broadway musical adaptation of the show, leading many to question which "SpongeBob SquarePants" actor is dating Ariana.
Jill decided to clear up the confusion on The Cut's post which read, "Is Ariana Grande Dating Spongebob Now?" In the comments section, the actress/comedian wrote, "Hi everyone, I'm married to Tom Kenny (who voices SpongeBob on the TV show). He is not dating Ariana Grande."
"I don't know if Ethan Slater (who played SpongeBob in the musical) is or isn't dating Ariana Grande," she added, before showing support for the alleged new couple. "However, they're both adorable and I totally ship it. Just wanted to set the record straight."
The voice actress, who also stars on the "SpongeBob SquarePants" animated series, cheekily assured, "P.S. as for me and Tom Kenny - we are celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary today."
After it's reported that Ariana and her husband Dalton Gomez have split since January of this year, TMZ claimed that the "7 Rings" singer and Ethan, who is still married to Lilly Jay, "started dating several months ago during production" of "Wicked".
The couple's rumored relationship allegedly "completely blindsided" his wife Lilly, who has blamed the "Victorious" alum for her sudden split from Ethan. "It's horrible. They were high school sweethearts. They have a baby! She's a wreck," a source told Page Six of the married spouses. The source added that Lilly believes Ariana's the reason she and Ethan "suddenly break up now when nothing appeared wrong between them."
Just two months before the reported romance between Ariana and Ethan, he still paid a glowing tribute to his "wonderful" wife in May. In a Mother's Day post on Instagram, he wrote, "Happy first Mother's Day to the most loving caring and wonderful mom/person in the world." The pair welcomed a son in August 2022.
Neither Ariana nor Ethan has addressed the dating speculation as he has set his Instagram page private since the romance rumors broke.
