Kelly 'K.C.' Amos has been arrested after allegedly threatening his sister Shannon Amos with gun that made her 'fear for her life' amid her claims that their actor father is a victim of elder abuse.

AceShowbiz - John Amos' family drama intensifies with his son facing legal trouble for allegedly making threats against his sister. Kelly "K.C." Amos was arrested over the weekend after being accused of threatening his sister Shannon Amos with gun.

According to the complaint obtained by PEOPLE, K.C. was arrested on Saturday, July 15 in West Orange, New Jersey after reportedly threatening to "kill Shannon Amos with the purpose to put her in imminent fear of death." Shannon said in the filing that she believed "the immediacy of the threat and the likelihood that it would be carried out” after K.C. allegedly sent her text messages with photos of firearms and gang affiliations.

Shannon said she feared "fear for her life" after K.C. sent her "terroristic threats" that included a video of him shooting a handgun as well text messages which read, "gonna sleep much better tonight big sis," with photos of firearms and gang affiliations. Another photo of a rifle was allegedly captioned, "that big one can clean a turkey out from 3 football fields away."

Shannon alleged that K.C. has bipolar disorder and she "fears that he may carry out threats from messages sent through text and is in fear for her life." Shannon additionally claimed that K.C. believed that she had hired a person to kill him and he was retaliating because he thought his life was in danger, per the filing.

Following her brother's arrest, Shannon said in a statement to Parade, "My family and I continue to advocate and fight for the proper care of my father." She added that she's "pleased that Kelly is being held accountable for his actions which have put my father's health at risk, and look forward to resolving this matter in private with the proper authorities."

Shannon started a GoFundMe in June for her father John, claiming he's been the victim of elder abuse. John later denied her claims, saying in a video shared by K.C. that she was lying and he's not sure why she started the fundraiser. GoFundMe took down the page after the "Roots" actor declined the cash.

Since then, K.C. no longer has authority to make medical decisions for John, Shannon said. She also has sent him a cease and desist letter regarding online comments he's made about her.
