AceShowbiz - Princess Kate Middleton seemingly didn't enjoy spending time with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. A royal expert claimed that the Princess of Wales said her walkabout with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after Queen Elizabeth II's death was the "hardest" thing she's had to do.

Veteran royal correspondent Robert Jobson wrote in his upcoming new book, "Our King", that Kate felt uncomfortable during their public joint appearance amid their tension. Robert said, "Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she'd ever had to do."

Dressed in all black, Harry and Meghan joined Kate and Prince William to greet well-wishers and look at the flowers placed outside the gates of Windsor Castle on September 10, 2022, two days after the Queen's passing. A royal source told PEOPLE at the time that William considered the walkabout to be "an important show of unity at an incredibly difficult time for the family."

However, Robert claimed that the unity of the former "Fab Four" was merely an "illusion" put on by the siblings and their wives. A body language expert additionally shared that Meghan appeared to show her "inner anxiety" during the walkabout.

"Meghan looked like a woman waiting for her cues rather than pushing herself forward," Judi James said of the "Suits" alum. He went on to note that the former actress' "frequent hair flicking" during the walkabout "suggested some inner anxiety."

Another expert echoed the sentiment, revealing that Meghan was afraid as she had been booed during the Platinum Jubilee. "There is no question that she was in fear, as she hung on to Harry's hand for dear life as they walked together," Dr. Lillian Glass noted. "She was serious and even stood back when Harry was speaking to someone. Usually, she is front and center, but the fact that she hung back was very telling of her fear."
