The actress who played sharp-tongued Ethel Beavers on the Amy Poehler-starring TV series is confirmed by her family to have passed away at the age of 92.

AceShowbiz - "Parks and Recreation" actress Helen Slayton-Hughes has passed away aged 92. Her family revealed her passing after she died on Wednesday, December 7, but a cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Helen, who portrayed sharp-tongued Ethel Beavers on the comedy show from 2011 to 2015, was remembered for her "love" and "work" by her loved ones. "Helen passed away last night. Her pain has ended but her fierce spirit lives on. Thank you for the love and support of her and her work. Rest sweet one," her family's statement said.

Helen, survived by four children and six grandchildren, was married for years but never publicly revealed her husband's identity. She made her final public appearance on October 8 when she attended a screening of comedy horror "The Curse of Bridge Hollow" in which she played her final role of a character called Victoria.

Helen's career spanned more than 40 years and she appeared in more than 200 theatre productions and musicals. Her TV break came when she cast in two episodes of "Nash Bridges" in 1996, before becoming best-known for her roles in "Arrested Development", "My Name Is Earl", "Desperate Housewives", and "New Girl".
