Marvel has released the official sneak peek of 'The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special', due out for streams on November 25, to tide fans over the wait for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

AceShowbiz - This year's Christmas is going to be merrier with the presence of the Guardians of the Galaxy on Earth. Marvel has released the first trailer of "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" that is bringing the holiday cheer to fans of the superhero movie franchise.

In the trailer, Peter Quill a.k.a. Star Lord (Chris Pratt) looks dispirited following the loss of his love interest Gamora (Zoe Saldana). Kraglin (Sean Gunn) notices that it's almost Christmas time on Earth and sparks the idea of lifting Peter up with the Christmas spirits.

"I just saw on the calendar that right now on Earth it's almost Christmas time," Kraglin says to the Guardians. "We don't have time for trivialities like Christmas," Nebula (Karen Gillan) responds, but Mantis (Pom Klementieff) disagrees as saying, "But Peter's so sad about Gamora being gone."

Thus, Mantis and Drax (Dave Bautista) make it their mission to bring Peter "a really wonderful Christmas gift" from Earth to make him "happy." After mulling over the options of someone or "something special [Peter] will never forget," they decide on Kevin Bacon as the perfect gift.

The duo then arrives at the actor's beautifully-decorated home and makes a forcible entry, much to Kevin's shock. "You're coming with us ... as a Christmas present," Dax tells the "X-Men: First Class" star, causing him to run in horror.

"The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" marks the conclusion of Phase Four of the MCU and is set to be released on Disney+ on November 25 to tide fans over the wait for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3". Filming occurred from February to late April of this year in Atlanta, Georgia and Los Angeles, during the production of the third feature-length film.

James Gunn, who has directed all "GOTG" films so far, is back at the helm for the holiday special, with the script he wrote himself. Other stars returning for the special include Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket and Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta, who died in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" (2017).
