The Jamaican superstar proposed to his girlfriend, a Turkish woman named Sidem Ozturk, during the summer of 2022, as she gushes that it's 'a dream come true.'

AceShowbiz - Vybz Kartel apparently didn't find it that hard to find love from behind bars. The dancehall star is revealed to have gotten engaged to his girlfriend, a Turkish woman named Sidem Ozturk, while he is currently serving life sentence for the murder of his associate Clive "Lizard" Williams.

Speaking to FOX 5 NY about her engagement to the Jamaican superstar, Sidem disclosed that it happened in the summer of 2022 during an authorized prison visit. "How it happened was, we were just calling each other 'hubby' and 'wifey' and he was like, 'We're heading toward marriage so you calling me hubby, or me calling you wifey is not serious enough. So you're my fiancee, we're going to get married,' " she recalled.

Sidem and Vybz, whose real name is Adidja Azim Palmer, began corresponding with her now-fiance in 2015, but they did not have a chance to meet until she traveled to Jamaica in 2019. Since then, Sidem, who studied psychology and was employed in London as a social worker helping vulnerable adults and children, moved to Jamaica to be closer to her man.

According to the news outlet, Sidem is the muse for Vybz's new EP "True Religion". She is equally smitten as she described her fiance, "He's smart. I love his heart. He has an amazing heart. It's just so giving, so loving. I like to call him my angel. He's an angel in my life. I can't deny how happy he makes me feel."

She went on sharing about her engagement, "To be here, in Jamaica, engaged to Addi, it's a dream come true. I still haven't processed it in my head, it's amazing. I don't know how to describe it, that's how good it feels."

Of maintaining a relationship while Vybz is in prison, Sidem admitted, "Obviously, it does cause some difficulties. I can't see him when I want to see him, can't talk to him every time I want to talk to him. But when you know where your heart is at, it's not that difficult, so I'm willing to wait."

Vybz, who has collaborated with the likes of Major Lazer, Rihanna and Jay-Z, is now in his second decade behind bars. He is likely to learn whether or not he will be a free man by the end of this year as his attorney Isat Buchanan has claimed the 46-year-old entertainer was framed by falsified evidence.
