The 'Spencer' actress who is hotly tipped as one of the contenders for Best Actress nominees for her role as Princess Diana is indifferent about the award buzz.

AceShowbiz - Kristen Stewart couldn't care less about the rumours she's in line for an Oscar for her role as Princess Diana in new movie "Spencer".

The actress is hotly tipped to be one of the Best Actress nominees at the Academy Awards thanks to her latest offering - a largely fictional tale of how Diana coped during a holiday with the royal family in 1991.

However, asked about the speculation during an interview on Variety's "Awards Circuit" podcast, Kristen had a typically blunt response.

"I don't give a s**t," she said. "The Oscars are such a funny thing. There are so many incredible movies and performances that barely get seen. It definitely says something about where we're at as a cumulative presence - what we're looking at, what we care about."

But Kristen did acknowledge, "I really appreciate that something that I was involved in has ignited such a large conversation. We don't make movies to not connect with each other."

Before filming the movie as she was preparing for the role, Kristen admitted she felt "intimidated." She explained, "The accent is intimidating as all hell because people know that voice, and it's so, so distinct and particular."

While learning to master Princess Diana's accent with a dialect coach, she's also researching the tragic royal as much as she could to make sure she did her justice on the silver screen.

"In terms of research, I've gotten through two and a half biographies, and I'm finishing all the material before I actually go make the movie," she explained.

"It's one of the saddest stories to exist ever, and I don't want to just play Diana - I want to know her implicitly."
