The Danish soccer player has been treated in a Copenhagen hospital and his condition has been 'stabilized' after he had a seizure during Denmark's game against Finland.

AceShowbiz - Danish soccer star Christian Eriksen has been "stabilised" in a Copenhagen hospital after collapsing during the third game of the Euro 2020 tournament.

The midfielder appeared to suffer some kind of seizure when a ball was tossed to him by a teammate during Denmark's game against Finland, and a medical team rushed on to the pitch to assist the fallen star, reportedly performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Eriksen as players surrounded him.

The match was suspended and TV coverage ceased as medics continued to assist the sportsman, who was later taken to a nearby hospital.

Eriksen's girlfriend Sabrina Kvist Jensen was spotted being consoled by a player during the scary ordeal.

The Euro 2020 match restarted later on Saturday (12Jun21) and tournament officials released a statement, which read, "Following the medical emergency involving Denmark's player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated."

"The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised."

Euro 2020 was originally slated to take place last year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

U2 rockers Bono and The Edge along with DJ Martin Garrix helped kick it off with a virtual performance in Rome, Italy. The trio previously recorded the event's official song, "We Are the People".

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran teamed up with TikTok to celebrate the delayed soccer tournament, which will last until July 12, with a free online show. He is scheduled to debut his comeback single on June 25.
