AceShowbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she has an unusual birthday tradition with Apple Martin. When announcing her company's new jewelry collection, the Pepper Potts depicter in the "Iron Man" film series opened up that each year she celebrates her daughter's birthday by getting new piercings together.
"Every year on Apple's birthday, we get a new piercing, it's this little tradition we have," the 48-year-old wrote on the Instagram account for her lifestyle brand Goop on Sunday, June 6. In the post that showed her flaunting gold hoops earrings, the actress continued, "She was a big inspiration for this collection and helped me refine the designs."
Gwyneth also sweetly revealed that she has named the $1,450 pair of earrings after her firstborn, the Apple Circle Pave Drop Earrings. In the caption, the actress quipped, "She'll definitely be 'borrowing' her namesake earrings." On the official website of Goop, it was said that the earrings' designs are "incredibly versatile, the kind of outfit-finishers you can wear with everything from casual tees to black tie."
On the site, Gwyneth also claimed that creating the collection was an emotional experience, and confessed she felt a "communal energy" from the jewels. The "Shallow Hal" actress admitted, "There's something about precious metals and gems - stones can feel cleansing, and gold is so warm." She further explained, "When you wear them, there's almost a communal energy transferred back and forth. It's emotional."
"I don't differentiate between day and night. If I invest in a great piece of jewelry, I'm going to wear it all the time," the Hollywood star stated. She added, "I'll sleep in it, wear it on the red carpet and pick up [my son] Moses from school in it."
Gwyneth showcased the luxury pieces herself on the site, including the Emily Yellow Gold And Pave Split Earrings ($895), as well diamond-encrusted ear cuffs, priced at $650. In one shot, the wife of "American Horror Story" producer Brad Falchuk accessorized her simple black bra with gold chunky earrings and a matching bracelet, as well as several rings on her fingers.
Gwyneth shares 17-year-old daughter Apple and 15-year-old son Moses Martin with her ex-husband Chris Martin. She decided to part ways with the Coldplay frontman in 2016.
