AceShowbiz - "America's Got Talent" season 16 returned with another 2-hour episode on Tuesday, June 8. That night, more acts performed in front of judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara, hoping the judges to give them a pass and send them to the next round.
The first act to perform that night was Beyond Belief Dance, a group of young girls taught by the legendary "RuPaul's Drag Race" alum Justin. They hit the stage to dance to "Nails, Hips, Hair, Heels" by Todrick Hall. Sofia called their performance "out of this world," while Howie said that it was such a fierce performance. All judges voted yes for Beyond Belief Dance.
Later, UniCircle Flow from Japan hit the stage. They danced on unicycles and Howie noted that it was a "beautiful dance," while Simon called it the most unique act they've seen across the seasons. They were sent to the next round.
Following it up were two boy band groups, Korean Soul and Larger Than Life. Larger Than Life performed first, singing a mash-up of "Larger Than Life" by Backstreet Boys and "Tearin' Up My Heart" by NSYNC. Unfortunately, Simon and Heidi hit their X buzzes. The group didn't make the cut when Howie gave them the third X buzz.
It was time for Korean Soul to perform. They opted to sing "All My Life" by K-Ci & JoJo as they showed off their pitch-perfect voices. The group received praises from the judges and Korean Soul went to the next round.
Matt Johnson was the first danger act to audition in this season. Taking to the stage, Matt attempted to reenact what he did last year when he hanged and drowned himself. This time, he managed to successfully do his act. Simon was impressed by Matt's willingness, while Howie was made speechless. Matt got a four yes.
Patrick Kun then showcased his magic tricks, much to Simon's liking. He gave him a yes after Patrick got two yes from Heidi and Sofia. As for entertainer Johnny Showcase, he did entertain the judges and audience as he talked about Paula Abdul, spiritual advisors and sexually heightened soul songs of the 70s.
The Curtis Family C-Notes hoped to go to the next round by trying to represent the "golden age of music" from the 50s and 60s. Although he was the only judge who didn't give the group a standing ovation, Howie said that they were like "superstars." The judges sent them to the next round.
Danny Dechi then showed off his bizzare skill of creating music by beating his cheek with a pencil, but it earned him a rare four X elimination. Later, circus artists Les Beaux Freres offered a nude dancing for a "little surprise." Their performance succeeded to make the judges have the best laugh with Heidi claiming that it was her "cup of tea."
Comedian Gina Brillon then took to the stage to make jokes about her dual life as a working woman who also wanted to make comedy work as a career. Gina got a four yes that sent her to the next round. Rounding out the night was singer Nightbirde, who sang an original song called "It's Okay". Howie called her "authentic," while Sofia called it "powerful and heartfelt." Simon was impressed as he said that her voice was "absolutely stunning," prompting her to hit the golden buzzer for Nightbirde. She went straight to the live shows!
