Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are also reported to have sent a gift for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's newborn baby girl named Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

AceShowbiz - Queen Elizabeth II is sending a warm congratulatory message for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle after they announced on Sunday, June 6 that they welcomed their daughter Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. Among those who were happy for the couple were the Queen and the rest royal family members.

In a statement, they claimed to be "delighted" with the news. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said in the statement, "The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news of the birth of a daughter for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton issued a separate statement on their official Instagram account. "We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie," so they wrote alongside a black-and-white picture of Meghan, Harry and their firstborn Archie.

It was also reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sent Lili a gift. However, details about the sweet gesture remain to be seen.

Back in May, Prince William talked about sharing "plenty of [parenting] advice" with his brother. "I wish him all the best and hope the next few days they can settle down and enjoy having a newborn in their family and all the joys that come with that," William said at the time.

"We're absolutely thrilled and looking forward to seeing them in the next few days as things quiet down. I'm very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting," he continued.

Meghan and Harry announced the arrival of their second child on Sunday. The couple's daughter was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California on Friday morning. They name the baby girl Lilibet Diana, paying tribute to both Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and his late mum, Diana, Princess of Wales.

"It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home," read their statement. "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."
