Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook score multiple milestones and break several records as they return to the top of the charts with their latest hit 'Butter'.

AceShowbiz - The Bangtan Boys are back! Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have returned to the pinnacle on Billboard Hot 100 with their latest hit called "Butter", only nine months after they dominated the chart with "Dynamite". They become the first group to do so since The Jackson 5 achieved the feat in 1970.

The group's second full English single, "Butter" is a dance pop with a 1980s and 1990s influence and positive energy similar to the previous chart topper "Dynamite". "Butter" smoothly sailed to the first spot on Billboard Global 200 by racking up a record-breaking 289.2 million streams and 249,000 units sold worldwide.

The K-pop band also broke their own record on YouTube. Last year, they set the record for the most views in a 24-hour period when "Dynamite" hit 101.1 million views. Now "Butter" has proven to be even more popular on the video-sharing platform as it garnered over 108.2 million hits on the first day upon the premiere.

"Butter" is described as "a dance pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS" while the music video is aimed at showcasing "the distinct choreography performed by each BTS member, in their individual frames and under the fancy stage spotlight."

"We wanted to have a fun BTS summer song that everyone can enjoy," Jin told BuzzFeed News in an interview. "And as always, we want our music to reach out to as many people as possible."

And they succeeded. Brimming with uplifting mood, the music video was so popular that it reached nearly 4 million peak concurrent viewers on YouTube. It's the biggest premiere for a music video on the platform, overtaking the group's 2020 hit "Dynamite" which scored more than 3 million peak concurrent viewers last year.

In Spotify, the seven-piece band scored the largest single-day streams for a track as "Butter" amassed more than 20.9 million hits globally upon the release on May 21.
