AceShowbiz - T.I. and Tiny Harris a.k.a. Tameka Cottle are apparently still warmly welcomed by their church amid sexual trafficking allegations against them. A video has surfaced online showing the couple speaking before the church congregation despite the barrage of negative headlines about the pair.
The former Xscape singer was honored by the Women of New Calvary Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, May 23 when her husband took over the mic because she's not the best public speaker. "I'm terrible at speaking, so...," the mother of four admitted in the clip.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., was later seen joining his wife on the podium while holding their 5-year-old daughter Heiress. "More than knowing us as human beings, they know our hearts," the rapper said about who they really are in God's eyes.
The 40-year-old then talked about their legacy, "And they know how much we are first on the frontlines to do for whoever needs to be done for and to sacrifice a part of ourselves to give to others. Because that's how we were raised. We come from good stock, ya dig what I'm saying?"
"This started-it was seeds planted," he continued, which was met with cheers of approval from the crowd. The "Live Your Life" hitmaker added that they "didn't just roll out of bed" and become who they are.
After the video was posted on her Instagram fan account, Tiny gushed about her husband's speech, "I'm the worst at this but thank God for my husband LOL." She also took to her Instagram Story to post a picture of her trophy from the church, which she got for "breaking ground for women in the entertainment industry." The 45-year-old wrote over the snap, "Thank you to my church again New Calvery & my amazing Pastor whom I love #PastorRedmond."
It didn't take long for their haters to catch wind of the video and accuse them of doing some damage control with their appearance at the church. "Ti loves talking about god , god dont have nothing to do with your love of orgies and eating prositute p***y," one person seemingly accused him of being a hypocrite.
Another who didn't buy the couple's words wrote, "im so tired of them. they are both a waste of space they are such a toxicity fest." A third person commented, "Creep b***hes always pander to the Black Church."
