In the court documents, Dr. L'Antoinette Stines says that Jay and Bey used her voice on the song off their 'Everything Is Love' album without crediting her, adding that the Carters didn't pay her for the feature.

AceShowbiz - Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles were facing lawsuit from Jamaican artist Dr. L'Antoinette Stines. Dr. Stines claimed that the power couple stole her work for 2018's track "Black Effect" off their "Everything Is Love" album without giving her proper credit or money.

TMZ reported that the lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday, June 16 in federal court, saw Dr. Stines revealing that the two contacted her in March 2018 as they were looking for local dancers to perform in a video, which they allegedly promised her to be "for promotional purposes only," for their tour. To help them find dancers, Dr. Stines recorded a clip explaining her views on love.

However, when she found out that the first minute of the final track of "Black Effect" was almost entirely made up of her voice, Stines claimed that she felt "artistically raped" by the Carters.

In the court documents, Dr. Stines claimed they used her voice on the song without crediting her. She also said that she wasn't paid for the vocal feature while their reps only gave her a contract on the day of the shoot and told her "not to worry." Dr Stines shared that she eventually signed the contract without having a chance to review it with a lawyer.

Dr. Stines is suing Jazzy and the "Lemonade" singer for copyright infringement and violation of her right to publicity. She's seeking damages as well as a writing credit on the track.

Neither Jay nor Beyonce has yet to respond to the suit.

This is not the first time for the mom of three to get in trouble with the law over crediting issue. Back in 2017, she was reportedly sued over claims that she used an authorized recorded line from a late New Orleans rapper for her song "Formation".
