A woman who stabbed Yasmine Jackson in a racially-motivated attack in Las Vegas has been slapped with heavier charges after she was initially booked for felony battery.

AceShowbiz - Las Vegas authorities have charged a woman with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing Michael Jackson's niece in the face in a racially-motivated attack.

Yasmine Jackson, the daughter of Joh'Vonnie Jackson, the King of Pop's half-sister, was hospitalised on May 20, 2020 after she was brutally ambushed on the street near her home.

Police responding to the incident arrested 22-year-old Angela Bonell at the scene, and initially booked her for felony battery with a deadly weapon, according to Yasmine, who documented her injuries on Instagram at the time.

However, the charge has since been upgraded to attempted murder with a deadly weapon with hate crime enhancement, reports the Daily Mail.

Bonell's bail has been set at $100,000 ahead of a court hearing later on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

Joh'Vonnie is the lovechild of Michael's father, Joe Jackson, following an affair with his then-secretary, Cheryle Terrell, in the 1970s.
