The original "Gossip Girl" series ran for six seasons on The CW from 2007 to 2012. Its revamp series has been planned for HBO Max, and will follow a new generation of private schools teens. The 10-episode production will star Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez and Jason Gotay.

In late May, however, HBO Max's chief content officer Kevin Reilly revealed that the reboot will not be ready for a 2020 release after the coronavirus pandemic shut down many productions.
