The former 'Shameless' actress join Elizabeth Perkins and Peter Horton as she fondly remembers the Hollywood publicist who died from complications of ALS.

AceShowbiz - Emmy Rossum led tributes following the sad news of publicist Nanci Ryder's death on Thursday, June 11, 2020.

Ryder became known as one of Hollywood's most influential publicists during her career and looked after celebrities including Renee Zellweger and Sarah Jessica Parker.

She passed away from complications of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) - which she was diagnosed with in 2014.

Following her death, former "Shameless" star Emmy was among those remembering the 67-year-old, writing on her Twitter page, "Absolutely gutted to hear of Nanci Ryder's passing. Nanci was a beacon for me in my career. She was an absolutely joy to be around. I'll miss her wicked sense of humour, her gossip, her laugh, her emails, her spirit, her smarts, her kindness and love. I'll miss her so much."

Elizabeth Perkins added in a tribute of her own, "Nancy was always on my side, kind, fierce, loyal, determined & real. I am glad she is finally at peace after such a long battle. Rest, beautiful Nancy, knowing so many loved you."

And Peter Horton tweeted, "Was my friend, former publicist, introduced me to my wife, funny... oh so funny, smart, strong... oh so strong. I'll miss her forever. #nanciryder."

A funeral for Ryder, who is survived by stepbrother Stanley Schwartz, will be held privately amid the coronavirus pandemic - with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date.
