Twitter users call out the 'Girls Trip' star for allegedly demanding that her presence be known, while others are baffled as to why the civil rights activist gives shout-outs to celebrities at the funeral in the first place.

AceShowbiz - Tiffany Haddish's presence at the memorial service for George Floyd on Thursday, June 4 has earned her some negative press. While she might attend the funeral with good intention to show her sympathy to George's family, people criticized her for allegedly centring herself at the event.

When Rev. Al Sharpton took the podium to deliver a speech, he listed off stars in the room, namely Kevin Hart, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Will Packer, Master P and T.I. For a while, the Baptist minister appeared to forget that Tiffany was also present, before someone reminded him.

"Is Tiffany here?" he asked the room, after which the comedienne's voice can be heard presumably telling the civil rights activist that she was, in fact, there.

People soon took to Twitter to call out Tiffany, though she didn't appear to be demanding a shout out from Al Sharpton or complaining that he forgot about her. "but Tiffany Haddish what are you doing??? cant be doing that for a forgotten shout out , @ a funeral," one person ripped her apart.

Another slammed her, "The fact that Tiffany Haddish is forcing her presence be known at George Floyd's memorial is not sitting well with me. It's not about you sis. #GeorgeFloyd." A third person responded in disbelief, "Clicked to see why Tiffany Haddish is trending...a shout out. A shout out at a funeral."

"This exactly why Kevin Hart said he didn't want anyone to know he was there, because he didn't want that to take away from George Floyd memorial. But of course, Tiffany Haddish a** had s**t to say since Al forgot to mention her..," a hater wrote.

Another critic said, "Tiffany Haddish's brand of clownery has NEVER been my taste. Her antics today further solidify my stance on that. For the fifty eleventh tiiiiime...READ THE BLOODCLAAT ROOM!" Someone else accused her, "Tiffany Haddish wants a shoutout at a funeral?"

Some others, however, have come to Tiffany's defense and expressed their confusion as to why Al Sharpton gave shout-outs to those celebrities in the first place. "This WHOLE Tiffany Haddish thing is a LIEā€¼ DID ANY OF YOU EVEN WATCH THE SERVICE?!?!" one person hit back at the critics.

"Seemed to be not that Tiffany Haddish wanted to be called out, but that Rev Al named a bunch of dudes, forgot her, then said 'I was so busy joking with Kevin Hart I didn't even look at you.' I can see the offense in that," another tried to explain.

"Tiffany Haddish always gets attacked for no reason. It's really weird...Like....what. I'm seeing people tweet outright lies about her for rts and likes. Disturbing. Truly," someone else defended the actress. Another pointed out, "No one should be upset at Tiffany Haddish. Al should've never acknowledged the celebrities there. Kevin Hart asked not to be singled out and he did it anyways. Whether Tiff asked to be acknowledged or not, he's in the wrong for doing it in the first place."

"you shouldn't be asking why Tiffany Haddish got mad, the real question is why the f**k is Al Sharpton doing shout outs at a damn funeral in the first place," someone else echoed the sentiment, while another similarly added, "Redirect the frustration from Tiffany Haddish to Al Sharpton and question why celebrities who DID NOT know George Floyd are getting shoutouts?"

The awkward shout-outs aside, Al Sharpton still delivered a moving eulogy. "When I stood at that spot [where George died], the reason it got to me is that George Floyd's story has been the story of black folks. Because ever since 401 years ago, the reason we could never be who we wanted and dreamed of being is you kept your knee on our neck," he addressed the crowd gathered inside North Central University's Frank J. Lindquist Sanctuary.
