In a joint statement, the Fox News anchor and his ex, Jill Rhodes, reveal that they have entered amicable agreements over four years ago, but remain close for their children's sake.

AceShowbiz - Sean Hannity and his wife of more than 20 years have secretly called an end to their marriage. Through a joint statement, the Fox News anchor and his now ex-wife, Jill Rhodes, confirmed that they have been divorced for more than a year.

"Sean and Jill are committed to working together for the best interests of their children," the former couple opened up to the press about their separation. "Amicable agreements were entered into over four years ago between Sean and Jill."

Despite their divorce, Sean and Jill claimed to "maintain a close relationship as parents to their children." Their joint statement further read, "Neither will have any further comments and ask for the sake of their children that their privacy be respected."

Sean and Jill got married in 1993, and shared two children together, a son named Patrick and a daughter named Merri Kelly. Speculations about their split surfaced before the coronavirus pandemic hit the country, but the former couple managed to keep their split under wraps.

On the possible cause of their divorce, a close friend told Daily Mail that the conservative talk show host's work was to blame. "Personally the reason for the divorce, Sean does three hours of radio each day in the city followed by TV in primetime, his workload created a lot of time away and it was tough on the marriage," the friend said.

The so-called insider went on to share, "Sean came from nothing, had a workaholic upbringing and between his shows, books, speeches he just didn't slow down, it unfortunately broke his marriage." Noting that the cable news host is "a huge family man," the friend added that this divorce "was hard on him."

Acknowledging that Sean and Jill had an amicable separation, the friend claimed, "Sean and Jill are great parents, when together you don't even realize they split. Jill's brother, Sean's brother in-law, still works with Sean on his TV show." The inside source further noted that their separation was not new news for friends and family, who "have known for years."
