'Saturday Night Live' writer Kristen Bartlett, who lives in the same building with the 'View' co-host, appears to dismiss her remarks about the damage caused by the Black Lives Matter protesters.

AceShowbiz - Meghan McCain was called out for her recent Twitter post. The criticism arrived after "The View" co-host made use of her social media account to criticize protesters whom she claimed to be destroying her neighborhood.

"My neighborhood in Manhattan is eviscerated and looks like a war zone. DeBlasio and Cuomo are an utter disgrace," so she said on Tuesday, June 2. "This is not America. Our leaders have abandoned us and continue to let great American cities burn to the ground and be destroyed. I never could have fathomed this."

Meghan McCain slams BLM protesters

Meghan McCain claimed that her neighborhood turned into a 'war zone' beecause of BLM protesters.

It didn't take long before her comments sparked backlash with Kristen Bartlett, a writer on "Saturday Night Live", being among those who responded to Meghan's claims. "Meghan, we live in the same building, and I just walked outside. It's fine," she said.

Another Twitter user demanded Meghan to give a receipt, writing, "Pictures or it didn't happen." Someone else continued, "gotta be honest, I had previously thought most of your opinions were ill-conceived and drenched in privilege and naivete. but then you go ahead and tweet something like this ... and yeah, that's confirmed."

One person sarcastically replied, "Hey Karen...sorry about the loss of a few windows. They were taken far too early in their windows lives...." Meanwhile, one comment read, "Well if people weren't killed by the color of their skin maybe this would have never happened. What happens when innocent people are killed. Anarchy. Stop killing, and the anarchy stops."

This arrived after Meghan explained why she decided to keep her pregnancy details private. "Ben and I have made the conscious decision to guard our (growing) families privacy as much as is possible. I believe children have a right to privacy and hope you will all understand as we navigate this as much as possible going forward without sacrificing our comfort or safety," she explained on Instagram.

She added, "A bunch of inhumane jackasses have really ruined so much for so many on social media and I learned a lot of hard lessons about cruelty that comes with being open and vulnerable about my personal life during my Dads cancer fight. It is a shame."
