Hours after joining Black Lives Matter demonstration outside of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's home, the 'Hart of Dixie' star claims she and her 'sisters' have been taken into police custody.

AceShowbiz - Jaime King has added her name to the list of celebrities arrested during protests over the death of George Floyd. Two days after Cole Sprouse got detained for "standing in solidarity" with Black Lives Matter activists, the Lemon Breeland of "Hart of Dixie" revealed that she too has gotten arrested during peaceful demonstration.

On Tuesday night, June 2, the 41-year-old actress informed her nearly 220,000 followers of her arrest, adding that she made the tweet while in handcuffs. "Currently arrested for a peaceful protest. Jaime King offered update on her situation hours after her arrest.

Earlier that day, King was seen joining more than 1,000 demonstrators outside of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's home in Hancock Park to demand the lowering of the LAPD's fund. Donning a medical grade face mask, she wore an 'I am a voter' t-shirt and paired it with black skinny jeans and white trainers.

Prior to her arrest, the "Waiting for Forever" actress brought to attention the mission of activist friend Krystina Arielle Tigner. "She uses her own platform to bring awareness to the struggles that she and other Black people face on a daily basis. Black voices matter, black stories matter, and black lives matter. How we use our voices and our platforms is important," she wrote on an Instagram post. "It isn't enough to just say black lives matter and go back to our carefully curated social media squares."

"We have to use our influence to uplift and raise the voices of those that can change the world," she further pointed out. "It's a privilege to be able to walk out the door without fear that you won't walk back in because the color of your skin was seen as a threat. It's a privilege to have the platform that I have and to be able to be heard."

"I will never know firsthand the experiences of Existing while black. I will never send my sons out the door with the fear that they’ll become a hashtag movement because their skin color was seen as a threat. But what I can do is listen," she continued. "Don't just say black lives matter. Prove it by supporting artists like Tina. Prove by supporting black artists and businesses."

Thousands have taken to the streets across the country to demand justice for Floyd and an end to police brutality. Many celebrities, including Halsey, Camila Cabello and Chrissy Teigen, were also vocal in supporting the movement.
