Praising Governor Tim Walz for 'doing what's right', the '99 Problems' hitmaker calls upon Attorney General Keith Ellizon 'to prosecute all those responsible for the murder' of Floyd.

AceShowbiz - Jay-Z is demanding courage from every politician, prosecutor and officer in the country over racial injustice. Hours after it was unveiled that he made a personal call to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in regards to the tragic death of George Floyd, the "Empire State of Mind" hitmaker issued a statement of his own, calling for a fight for justice.

Sharing his stance via Roc Nation's social media accounts, the husband of Beyonce Knowles began by praising Governor Walz. "After our very earnest conversation, thank you to Governor Walz for doing what's right and calling in Attorney General Keith Ellizon to take over the George Floyd case," he said in the post dated Sunday night, May 31.

The music mogul went on to briefly address his call to the governor. "Earlier today, Governor Walz mentioned having a human conversation with me - a dad an a black man in pain," he noted. "Yes, I am human, a father and a black man in pain and I am not the only one. Now I, along with an entire country in pain, call upon AG Ellison to do the right thing and prosecute all those responsible for the murder of George Floyd to the fullest extent of the law."

"This is just a first step," the 50-year-old vowed. "I am more determined to fight for justice than any fight my would-be oppressors may have." He concluded his post by stating, "I prevail on every politician, prosecutor and officer in the country to have the courage to do what is right. Have the courage to look at us as humans, dads, brothers, sisters and mothers in pain and look at yourselves."

Earlier the same day, Governor Walz opened up about Jay-Z's phone call during a press conference. "I received a call last night - to understand how big this was - from JAY-Z. Not international performer but dad, stressing to me that justice needs to be served," he spilled. "It was so incredibly human. It was a dad - and I think quite honestly a black man - whose visceral pain of this that he knew."

"His words summarized that justice needs to be served here," the Minnesota Governor continued. "He knows the world is watching, and how Minnesota handles this is going to have an impact across the country. It's a positive sign that someone of a stature, that has a presence like that, is focused in the moment of what Minnesotans are focused on."

George Floyd, the African-American man at the center of the civil unrest across the country, was killed on Monday, May 25, after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck during an arrest. A video of him repeatedly telling the cop he can't breathe surfaced online soon after, leading to violent clashes between officials and Black Lives Matter protesters that progressed over the weekend.
