AceShowbiz - Michael Jordan has released a statement about the death of George Floyd that leads to Black Lives Matter movement across the United States. In the statement, which was released on Sunday, May 31, the NBA legend shared that he was "deeply saddened, truly pained and plain angry" due to the recent incident.
"I see and feel everyone's pain outrage and frustration," he added. Giving his support to the protesters, Michael wrote, "I stand with those who are calling out the ingrained racism and violence toward people of color in our country. We have had enough."
He went on saying, "I don't have the answers, but our collective voices show strength and the inability to be divided by others. We must listen to each other, show compassion and empathy and never turn our backs on senseless brutality. We need to continue peaceful expression against injustice and demand accountability. Our unified voice needs to put pressure on our leaders to change our laws, or else we need to use our vote to create systemic change. Every one of us needs to be part of the solution, and we must work together to ensure justice for all."
Concluding statement, Michael wrote, "My heart goes out to the family of George Floyd and to the countless others whose lives have been brutally and senselssly taken through the acts of racism and injustice."
Fans, however, were not impressed by Michaels' statement. Taking a jab at his long-overdue statement, a fan commented, "300 years later......." as another comment read, "[Kobe Bryant] would never wait that long to speak." Meanwhile, someone else said, "Scripteeeedd...not all black people are for black people."
"Nice statement Mike but you made millions off of blacks. we need more than a quote. you have connection and capital. DO SOMETHING!!!!!" urged another fan. Echoing the sentiment, someone else added, "Put your money where your mouth is....."
