In the Instagram video, the 'Lemonade' hitmaker urges people to sign petitions for George, who died from police brutality, and take part in the battle against racism.

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles has come forward with a strong message in the wake of nationwide outcry over justice for George Floyd, who died after being suffocated by a Minneapolis police officer. In her recent Instagram video, the music icon urged people to sign petitions for him and take part in the fight against racism.

"We need justice for George Floyd," the "Lemonade" hitmaker said in the clip posted Friday night, May 29. "We all witnessed his murder in broad daylight. We're broken and we're disgusted. We cannot normalize this pain. I'm not only speaking to people of color."

She went on saying, "If you're white, black, brown, or anything in between, I'm sure you feel hopeless about the racism going on in America right now. No more senseless killings of human beings. No more seeing people of color as less than human. We can no longer look away."

Paying tribute to George, Beyonce added, "George is all of our family, and humanity. He's our family because he's a fellow American. There have been too many times that we've seen these violent killings, and no consequences. Yes, someone's been charged, but justice is far from being achieved. Please sign the petition and continue to pray for peace, compassion and healing for our country."

"If you want to demand more charges brought on all those involved in the death of George Floyd, click the link in my bio to sign the petition," so she captioned the video, referring to the petitions by Change.org, Color of Change, We Can't Breathe and NAACP.

Her post was much appreciated by fellow celebrities. "Y'all done fckd up now sis mad & had ENOUGH ‼️" Tamar Braxton said in the comment section. TV personality Tanisha Thomas added, "The Queen has spoken."

However, one commenter criticized Beyonce for using filter in the clip. "This is a serious matter. Why you using a filter?" asked the person. Another naysayer chimed in, "busy worrying about what her face gonna look like giving a powerful message."

It didn't take long before her online devotees came and shut the user down as one of them clapped back, "Why are U concerned about a dam filter, how about U listen to the dam message. Smh! Get a REAL LIFE or get off her page SIS!" Another comment read, "how is it distracting? You want to be distracted from what's saying! That's what you're saying lol This is absolutely not the time for this kind of foolishness."
