In a 2008 clip, which many deem 'cringe-worthy,' 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' host can be seen pestering the 'All I Want for Chirstmas Is You' hitmaker to confirm the rumors of her eating for two.

AceShowbiz - Ellen DeGeneres once again caught heat over an old interview. The popular TV host landed in hot water after a video of a 2008 interview featuring Ellen pressing Mariah Carey to admit that she was pregnant at the time resurfaced online.

In the clip, which many deemed "cringe-worthy," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" host could be seen pestering the "All I Want for Chirstmas Is You" hitmaker to confirm the rumors of her eating for two. As Mariah seemed hesitant to talk about her and husband Nick Cannon's personal details, Ellen tried to get the answer by offering her alcohol.

"People are saying you're pregnant. There's rumors. Let's toast to you not being pregnant if you're not pregnant," said the 62-year-old TV personality. Mariah then replied, "Don't discuss that. I can't believe you did this to me Ellen. This is peer pressure."

Later, after pretending to take a sip of the alcoholic beverage, Mariah confirmed her pregnancy. "Yes, we are pregnant, this is true!" she said, sending everyone in the studio into frenzy. She went on saying, "It's been a long journey. It's been tough, because I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy." Weeks after the interview, it was revealed that Mariah had a miscarriage.

Upon watching the footage, fans quickly slammed Ellen for forcing Mariah to talk about the pregnancy despite her being reluctant. "Why did you think it was appropriate to manipulate Mariah Carey into announcing her pregnancy on your show by trying to make her drink alcohol? Did you feel like s**t when she miscarried, after you forced her pregnancy into the global spotlight against her will? #AskEllen," one critic wrote on Twitter.

"Everyone is surprised that Ellen DeGeneres is a c**t but did we all forget when she asked mariah carey r u pregnant? and when mariah said didn't want to talk about it she handed her a glass of champagne and tried to force her to drink it to prove she wasn't with child, vile," one other fan wrote. Someone else chimed in, "She tried to force Mariah Carey to drink on her show to get her to admit she wasn't pregnant just for Mariah to go on and have a miscarriage? That was mean."
