The reality show has been canned for the remaining 2019-2020 season after one of its female contestants, Hana Kimura, took her own life due to online bullying.

AceShowbiz - The producers of Japanese reality show "Terrace House" have scrapped the remainder of their 2019-2020 season following the death of wrestler Hana Kimura.

The 22-year-old Tokyo Cyber Squad fighter died on Saturday, May 23, 2020 and Fuji Television bosses have opted not to air the final episodes of the most recent season.

"We would like to express our regrets for the death of Hana Kimura and offer our sincere condolences to her family," a statement reads. "Taking her passing with utmost sincerity, we will take active steps to formulate a response."

Before her death, Kimura had become a cyberbullying target linked to an incident on the show. She reportedly took her own life as a result of the harassment.

"Terrace House" has become popular around the world thanks to Netflix.
