The Hot 97 host also addresses the 'Say So' singer's Instagram Live on Monday in which she explained herself, but this time, he isn't defending Doja as he says that she's so 'defensive.'

AceShowbiz - While most people were eager to cancel Doja Cat for her racism scandal, Hot 97 host Ebro Darden wasn't one of them. He tweeted at the time that instead of canceling the "Say So" hitmaker, he suggested to educate her more about black culture. He was criticized for it and now he offered an explanation.

"I'm assuming she didn't have any black culture in her suburban wasteland. Her white mom probably couldn't help her so she got some identity issues and you off in chatrooms, so clearly there's some--if you like being called the n-word...maybe she loves that," he explained on Tuesday, May 26 on his radio show. "Maybe that turns her on or some weird thing. I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know what she was into. But clearly there was some sort of mental identity something."

Ebro noted that he was slammed because his situation wasn't much different from Doja's. He was referring to the fact that both he and Doja have a white mom.

Later, he addressed Doja's Monday Instagram Live in which she explained herself. While Ebro seemed to be defending the musician before, he wasn't this time. Saying that Doja came across as "mean," he added, "Yo fam, you sound mad defensive. You got something you need to deal with."

Doja was blasted after a video of her taking part in racist chat rooms resurfaced online. She was also accused of mocking black victims of police brutality with her song titled "Dindu Nuffin".

Of the controversy, Ebro wrote on Twitter, "Instead of canceling Doja Cat for having some weird fetish and identity issue possible to uplift her and show her that being Black is beautiful? Im assuming she had no Black culture in her suburban wasteland and her white Mom couldn't help her. And chat rooms..."

On her Live broadcast, Doja apologized in addition to addressing all the controversies and allegations against her. "There's no better apology than me doing what I've always done, being on live, telling you guys my f**king truth, and being completely honest," she began her Live. "It's a hard time right now, but recording myself apologizing and recording myself sounding perfectly f**king diplomatic is the biggest lie I can make to you. "

Admitting that she's "not perfect" and "my behavior isn't something that always needs to be followed," she added, "But also I need to stand up for myself instead of making a video that's diplomatically and politically correct."
