AceShowbiz - Shad Gaspard's wife has issued a heartfelt statement about his tragic passing. One day after the body of the former WWE star was found washed up on Venice Beach, California, Siliana Gaspard remembered him as "a bright force of nature" in a tribute post she shared on social media.
"Aryeh, myself and the Gaspard and Chittick families would like to take this time to thank everyone for their prayers and support, as we mourn the terrible loss of our beloved Shad," the trainer and nutritionist began her Instagram post dated Thursday, May 21. "Shad was our whole world and we were his."
"There are not enough words to describe what he means to all of us. He was our heart, our soul, our protector, our warrior. He was a bright force of nature, who [brought] joy to many through his joyous and gracious nature," she continued. "The outpouring of love from Shad's friends, colleagues and fans has meant more to us than you can even imagine."
Siliana went on to express her gratitude to "the lifeguards, coast guard, divers, fire and police departments for their efforts" in the search for Shad. She concluded her post by stating, "Shad was and will always be our real life super hero. I love you more, my love."️
Shad went missing after getting caught in a strong rip current while swimming with his son at Venice Beach in California on Sunday afternoon, May 17. Kenichi Haskett of the Los Angeles County Fire Department Lifeguard Division noted that one of the lifeguards were able to rescue his son, but the former pro wrestler "got pushed down by a wave."
On Tuesday, Siliana shared her hope that Shad could be found alive as she thanked those involved in the search rescue. "Shad is a fighter, a warrior and a magical soul. We are hoping and praying for his safe return," she wrote in her post. "As a family we thank you all for your concern and well wishes. Please continue to keep sending your positivity and prayers to our beloved Shad."
On Wednesday morning, Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department officials were informed that a jogger found a lifeless body on the beach. It was later confirmed that the body matched the description of the missing 39-year-old athlete.
After news of Shad's death broke out, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson came forward with his message of condolences. Through an Instagram post, he expressed his heartbreak, "This one hurts. Great guy. My deepest condolences and love to Shad Gaspard’s wife, son and family."
"Shad drowned in the ocean, but not before instructing lifeguards to save his 10yr old son first," he went on praising the late pro wrestler. "That’s the love of a father. This is a tough one to process. Love and light to Shad’s family. And your warrior spirit lives on through your son."
