Reports of the 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' star rekindling romance with her actor boyfriend come a little over two months after they were spotted stepping out together in London.

AceShowbiz - Lily James and Matt Smith might have to thank coronavirus lockdown for bringing them back together. Months after being rumored to have called an end to their five-year relationship, the "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" actress and the former star of "The Crown" were alleged to have rekindled their romance.

"Matt and Lily's break-up was mostly because their hectic schedules meant they could barely see each other," a source told The Sun. "They kept the house together when they split because they were both barely around. But when lockdown began, they ended up isolating together. Being in the house and having no work and distractions has allowed them to reconnect and get back to a good place."

The source went on to note, "There is such an amazing chemistry between them and they make a wonderful couple." Their reconciliation was said to have been hoped for by the pair's friends as the source added, "…because they do make each other so happy and their split happened because they were just too busy to see each other."

Reports of Lily and Matt's reconciliation came a little over two months after they were spotted enjoying an afternoon stroll together in London. For the March 29 outing, the "Darkest Hour" actress sported a gray jacket that she paired with white pants with a red beanie. Her boyfriend, in the meantime, donned a black puffer jacket and a black beanie.

The two kept their distance during the outing, but it might be to follow the social distancing guidelines in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak. At some point during their outdoor walk, Lily was seen smiling while Matt was caught on camera looking at her from behind his dark sunglasses.

Lily and James made their red carpet debut as a couple back in February 2015 at the Milan premiere for her film "Cinderella". They were, however, linked romantically a year earlier. While the two kept their romance away from the spotlight, Lily admitted in 2018 that they were in the process of buying a home together.

"We want to get somewhere," the 31-year-old actress spilled in an interview for the July issue of Marie Claire U.K.. "That's going like, 'Can we go furniture shopping?' We bought a rug from there [points to a shop over the road], and I love getting flowers and making things look nice."

The twosome were hit with split rumors in December 2019. While they played down speculations by having a lunch together in London in early December, sources claimed that the "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" co-stars didn't exactly appear all loved up, and their get together seemed frosty.
