The ringleader of the rock band Santana is mourning the death of his beloved brother and fellow musician Jorge Santana who has just passed away at the age of 68.

AceShowbiz - Guitar great Carlos Santana is in mourning following the death of his younger brother.

Musician Jorge Santana, 68, passed away from natural causes on Thursday, May 14, 2020, his representative, John Regna, confirms to TMZ.

Jorge followed in his big brother's footsteps and picked up the guitar as a teen, forming a high school band called The Malibus in the 1960s.

They went on to rename the group Malo and landed a record deal with Warner Bros. officials which led to the 1972 release of their self-titled debut album and spawned their big hit, "Suavecito".

Jorge also played with The Fania All-Stars before eventually going solo.

He later teamed up with his superstar brother on tour in the 1990s and they recruited their relative, Carlos Hernandez, for the 1994 album, "Santana Brothers".

Paying tribute to Jorge on social media, Carlos writes, "We take time to celebrate the magnificent spirit of our beloved brother Jorge. He transitioned unto the realm of light that cast no shadow, the eyes of my heart clearly see him right in between our glorious and magnificent mother Josefina and our father Jose... They are caressing his face and kissing his hands showering him with Light and Love..."

"We love cherish and honor your soul MEMO (sic)."
