The Jonas Brothers member reveals he and wife went ahead with the Las Vegas nuptials only because they had to be legally married in U.S. before holding a wedding in France.

AceShowbiz - Joe Jonas connected with fans in a new video for GQ magazine and opened up on the reason for his and Sophie Turner's impromptu Las Vegas wedding.

The Jonas Brothers star and former "Game of Thrones" actress exchanged vows at the fabled Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on May 1, 2019, following the Billboard Music Awards, and later celebrated for the second time in the South of France during a sunset ceremony the following month.

During his appearance on GQ's "Actually Me" series, where he anonymously scoured the internet from home and answered a number of questions about himself, the "Sucker" hitmaker revealed the couple went ahead with the first ceremony as they "had to get legally married in the States."

"So we thought it would be really fun to get all of our friends, invite them out (to Vegas), and do an impromptu wedding," he explained.

"And we actually had some people that I didn't even know that well there. Some people (in attendance) I am now closer with! Khalid was there! That was cool. And Diplo decided to livestream the whole thing."

Although Sophie and Joe had a blast exchanging vows in Sin City, he reflected that it "blew up in our faces" when his parents found out from the news after he forgot to tell them.

"My parents called me the next morning and they were like 'Did you just get married?' And I realised that I told everybody, but forgot to tell my parents."

He added, "So, kids, make sure you tell your parents when you're getting legally married!"
