In her heartfelt tribute to Paige Heard, the ex-wife of Johnny Depp claims that the 'kindness, support and generosity' she and her sister received from friends and family 'has been utterly soul-saving.'

AceShowbiz - Amber Heard is in mourning. In the midst of her on-going defamation legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp, the "Aquaman" actress broke the devastating news that her mother, Paige Heard, has passed away.

On Sunday, May 3, the 34-year-old Hollywood star turned to Instagram to pay tribute. Along with two throwback photos of herself with her mother, she began sharing her loss. "I am heartbroken and devastated beyond belief at the loss of my mom, Paige Heard. She left us too early, clasping onto the memory of her beautiful, gentle soul," she wrote.

"She will be missed from the very depths of our hearts forever. Her unflinching, open heart made her the most beautiful woman I had ever known," she continued on. "It's hard to imagine and even more difficult to say but I feel truly lucky to have been her daughter and been given the gift of having the light she shone on everyone, fall on me for nearly 34 years."

Though admitting that "this has been an unbelievably painful time," the "London Fields" actress tried to remain positive by stating, "…in that, I am reminded of what survives us all, love." She did not forget to thank others for their support as she wrote, "The kindness, support and generosity my sister Whit and I have received from friends and family has been utterly soul-saving."

Upon noticing Amber's tribute post, a few of her friends reached out to express their condolences. Her stylist, Karla Welch, wrote, "Oh amber I'm so very sorry. Sending you all our love." Celebrity makeup artist Katey Denno chimed in, "Oh my God, amber. My heart is with you." Fellow actress Andie MacDowell has also voiced her sympathy, "I'm so sorry for your loss dear one."

Amber did not offer any details as to what has caused her mother's passing, but she last posted a photo of her mother on Instagram was in early March. Celebrating International Women's Day, the "Magic Mike XXL" actress shared a picture of her, Paige and sister Whit laughing joyfully along with a note that the day is "dedicated to all you badass women warriors out there."

Paige's passing came a little over a month after Amber's request for a dismissal to Johnny's defamation lawsuit was denied. In late March, Fairfax County Chief Judge Bruce White ruled against the actress' motion to shut down his $50 million court battle over a December 2018 article she wrote for The Washington Post.
