Sharing a photo of her soaking up the sun in her swimming pool, the 'Irresistible' singer points out at the splash near her that marked the moment Ace's home run landed in the water.

AceShowbiz - Singer Jessica Simpson had to cut short her relaxing Sunday (April 26) soak in the sun after she was "almost nailed" in the face by her son's flying baseball.

The "Irresistible" singer was lounging on a float in her swimming pool when her six-year-old son Ace hit a home run - with the speeding ball nearly turning his mum into a bloody mess.

Sharing an Instagram photo of the moment the ball landed in the water, just feet away from where she had been sunbathing, Jessica wrote, "Attempted gettin' some sun and my son smacked a home run from the driveway that almost nailed me in the face."

"Proof is in the splash. Needless to say, I got off the mat."

Jessica has been making the most of the coronavirus lockdown by spending quality time with her husband Eric Johnson (II) and their kids Ace, Maxwell, seven, and one-year-old Birdie, while leaning on her faith to stay positive during the pandemic.

In late March, she told fans, "I know people are struggling with fear, anxiety, and also with sorrowful loss. My faith in God, knowing that with him all things are possible, has been my strength when I feel overwhelmed..."

"I have had many prayerful moments in these last few weeks of uncertainty and it is in these moments I feel true peace and pure connection to hope."
