The president claims that he has 'a very good idea' about the North Korean leader's condition, before saying during the same press conference, 'Nobody knows where he is.'

AceShowbiz - Donald Trump has just added to the confusion over Kim Jong Un's health status. The U.S. President made contradicting statements as he addressed the mystery regarding the North Korean leader's condition during a White House news conference on Monday, April 27.

Trump initially declared that he had "a very good idea" about Kim's condition, but "can't talk about it now." He told reporters, "I can't tell you, exactly," before adding, "I hope he's fine. I do know how he's doing, relatively speaking." He went on suggesting that we'll "probably be hearing in the not-too-distant future."

But later in the same press conference the president told reporters, "He didn't say anything last Saturday. Nobody knows where he is so he obviously couldn't have said it. This is breaking news that Kim Jong Un made a statement on Saturday. I don't think so."

Trump's later statement seemed to be referring to Kim's message to workers in the country published in North Korean state-media on Sunday, but it has yet to be verified.

Following Trump's contradicting statements, people weighed in on Twitter about whether or not POTUS actually knows the truth about Kim's condition. "Trump has no idea and has contradicted himself in this statement, but.. It's very telling his game includes him helping Kim Jong un hide the truth," one user commented.

"I have a good idea also about Kim Jong Un's health. In fact my idea is better than @realDonaldTrump's idea because mine is perfect. I can't tell you what it is because then we would have to quarantine you," another sarcastically responded. Another similarly reacted, "Oh yea, I heard you said you know how Kim Jong Un was, yet you failed to say. We already know where he is (in North Korea)."

Speculation about Kim Jong Un's health status mounted after a South Korean news outlet, The Daily NK, reported that the 36-year-old has been recovering at a villa since his April 12 surgery. The report claimed that Kim has been in bad health because of "heavy smoking, obesity and overwork."

Later on Saturday, April 25, a vice director of HKSTV, a leading Hong Kong broadcast network, said that Kim has died. Citing a "solid source," he shared the news on the Chinese messaging app Weibo. Japanese news sources also suggest the controversial leader is in a vegetative state following surgery.

Meanwhile, South Korean presidential adviser Moon Chung In told CNN on Sunday that the North Korean leader was "alive and well" despite speculation about his well-being.
