The 'Love' hitmaker goes on to say during an Instagram Live session that she previously reached out to hip-hop legend MC Lyte before admitting, 'I was just saying how it felt like I was so unprotected.'

AceShowbiz - The beef between Keyshia Cole and O.T. Genasis continues to get nastier with other parties, including Keyshia's sisters and O.T.'s baby mama Malika Haqq, being involved. In a recent Instagram Live chat with Ari Lennox, the "Love" singer opened up about the whole thing.

"That's why I was so...like honestly--I'm just not going to talk about that situation--but it just pissed me off so much because you know, at a time that everybody was going through so much in the Black community, getting killed and all that, getting pulled over and getting killed, and then you wanna do a whole song that I wrote about love and make it about shooting and killing and bang-banging," she shared to Ari.

She went on saying, "It's like, yoooo, sir. And then get mad that I say that I don't like what you did like, turned the integrity of my music. And then just bully and bully and continue to bully."

Keyshia went on to say that she reached out to hip-hop legend MC Lyte before admitting, "I was just saying how it felt like I was so unprotected." She continued, "It was like no, 'You come from the hood. You really ain't s**t. Your mom was on drugs your whole life. You don't really have a right to what you feel about what you've created.' More so like, 'Lighten up. Why are you taking everything so seriously? It was just a joke.' "

The singer said that she actually tried to talk to O.T. when things started getting out of hand. "Like, 'Do you know this guy? Like...is he okay? What's going on? Is he stressed out?' " she told Ari what she asked to her industry connections. "I don't know, what the hell... It should have been more so like... 'My agenda didn't fit your agenda. I apologize for that. I didn't mean no disrespect when I did it.' Then it would have just been the end of that instead of it having to be a thing."

Keyshia and O.T.'s feud began in 2019, after the latter parodied the former's song "Love" with "Never Knew". Keyshia never approved the cover and she was not having it that O.T. redid her classic ballad with changes to the lyrics. "I ain't never gone listen to @KeyshiaCole song the same anymore," Keyshia's fan commented on O.T.'s version, seemingly unamused. Keyshia then replied to the fan, "Exactly. Not cool."

Later, O.T. continued to throw insults toward Keyshia with him recently shading her for her alleged smelly lady parts. His crude remarks earned him backlash and among the critics was Keyshia's sister Neffeteria "Neffe" Pugh. O.T. then publicly apologized to Keyshia, saying, "Look @keyshiacole I was really just jokin on dat IG live s**t…Ppl screen record and blow it out of proportion."
