The upcoming wedding of Princess Beatrice and her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has been left in limbo because of the lockdown amid the global Covid-19 pandemic.

AceShowbiz - Britain's Princess Beatrice and her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have officially put their royal wedding plans on pause as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The couple had hoped to exchange vows in the Chapel Royal at St James' Palace, London on May 29, 2020, and then celebrate with a garden party at Buckingham Palace, but last month, March 2020, as U.K. residents went into lockdown, a representative revealed the reception would no longer take place.

On Thursday, April 16, 2020, the lockdown restrictions were extended until at least May 7, and the continued global pandemic has prompted Beatrice and Edoardo to call off the formal celebrations for the time being.

Their spokesperson confirms to People.com, "There are no plans to switch venues or hold a bigger wedding. They aren't even thinking about their wedding at this time. There will come a time to rearrange, but that's not yet."

The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson announced her engagement to the Italian property developer in September 2019.

Edoardo is the son of former British Olympic skier, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi.
