The 'Voice' host trims his 'very bushy' hair at home with the help of his 11-year-old son Jack and celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton as his 'Today' co-hosts nervously watch.

AceShowbiz - Carson Daly does not need to go to a barbershop to get a haircut when following the safety guidelines to avoid the coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday morning, April 8, the "Today" show co-host successfully gave himself a trim on live TV from the comfort of his home.

During the particular episode of the morning show, Daly's co-host Savannah Guthrie told viewers, "Carson himself has acknowledged his hair has gotten wild. It's like a wild tumbleweed!" With Daly on standby at his home, she informed him that they have invited A-list hairstylist Chris Appleton to guide him over the phone on how to buzz off his hair.

Being a good sport, Daly picked up his razor and told his team, "I'm ready. I'm going to work on the sides first. I don't know if I use a number two or a number three." Appleton suggested him to "start with a number three," explaining that people need to start cutting their hair a little bit longer before slowly going shorter.

As he started to buzz off one side of his head, Daly asked again, "Is the motion, south to north?" Appleton directed him to go from "bottom to top" before recommending to do "little flick motion." While Guthrie and other co-hosts watched him nervously, the former VJ on MTV's "Total Request Live" exclaimed, "Oh, it's working, it's working!"

When he needed to cut the backside of his head, Daly enlisted the help of his 11-year-old son Jackson James. "I'm trying to observe his work in the mirror and it's pretty good actually," he explained to his co-hosts, including Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin and Al Roker.

After going off air, Daly doctored a final result of his haircut, and posting an altered photo of him with a shaved head on Instagram. "Here's the final product! I think we did pretty good! Thanks to @chrisappleton1 for walking my son & I thru the self haircutting process this am live on @todayshow," he gushed.

Days earlier, Daly showed off his unruly hair that has grown wild since he self-isolate at home with his family. "I've literally ONLY been focused on 3 things. The well being of my amazing wife, our newborn & my other 3 small kids," he wrote in an Instagram post. "But for the life of me I can't figure out how a dog & a lawn can legally get a haircut before me. I'm turning into Michael Landon. (Google it kids) Hope you're all hanging in there! God bless..."
