The 'New Rules' hitmaker defends herself for partying at the strip club following the Grammy Awards early this year, claiming she supports women in all lines of work.

AceShowbiz - Dua Lipa won't apologise for visiting a strip club with Lizzo after the Grammy Awards because she believes sex work can be "empowering."

The "New Rules" singer partied with the "Truth Hurts" hitmaker at L.A.'s Crazy Girls nightclub after the music bash in January 2020 - sparking a furious backlash from some former fans on social media, who announced she was "cancelled" using the hashtag, #DuaLipaisoverparty.

However, the star is unrepentant and has now hit back - saying she supports women in all lines of work, including those in the sex industry.

"I don't like to apologise if I don't believe I should be apologising for something," she tells The Guardian. "I believe in supporting women in all fields of work. Nothing at that party was derogatory; everyone was just dancing and having fun."

Explaining her views on sex work, Dua adds, "Not every sex worker is being forced to do something they don't wanna do. I think a lot of the women found it really empowering and really like to dance."

The 24-year-old pop star also takes a sex-positive attitude to writing her lyrics, with one track on her new album, "Future Nostalgia", discussing getting, "good pipe," a euphemism she says she picked up when chatting to friends.

"Everybody thinks that as a woman, you have to be so careful about how you portray yourself or how you talk about sex, and everything has to be really sweet," she explains. "It's just very colloquial and how I chat with my mates."
