The Duke of Cambridge reportedly wants 'to do anything he can to help' in the midst of the pandemic, but it is 'tricky' since he is a full-time senior royal given the absences of the other monarch members.

AceShowbiz - Prince William is itching to take part in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Having worked as a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance from 2015 until 2017, the Duke of Cambridge was reported to be seriously considering to make a return to the job as the U.K. continues to battle the spread of COVID-19.

"Prince William is indeed keen to re-enlist to the air ambulance service," Fox News' Neil Sean said of the 37-year-old royal. Still, Neil was quick to add that it will be difficult for the patron of the London Air Ambulance Charity to do so. "But it's also a tricky time. He really has to focus on the royal duty now that the queen is in isolation," the media correspondent stated.

Neil further noted that even though the father of three "is in talks about a short part-time role in emergency and so forth," it was "unthinkable that he could revert back to that full-time." He added, "It's interesting that William is now rating higher than ever before with this leadership style as king-in-waiting and wanting to help so many subjects in these trying times... William will do this work totally under secrecy and no PR will be involved at his and the palace's request."

Similarly, The Sun reported that the oldest son of Prince Charles "has been seriously considering returning as an air ambulance pilot to help in the current pandemic." An insider shared, "He knows the whole country is doing its bit and he wants to help. But it's complicated as he was originally grounded from the job so that he could become a senior working royal."

"That role is even more important now given that Charles has been ill, Harry has walked away with Meghan and Andrew has been effectively barred from public life," the insider went on explaining. "But William is very keen to do anything he can to help."

William might be eager to make a return to his former job after his father Prince Charles contracted coronavirus. The Prince of Wales announced his COVID-19 diagnosis on March 25. Seven days later, it was revealed that he has got the all-clear to come out of quarantine.

Stressing that he was lucky to have "relatively mild symptoms," the 71-year-old said in a video shared on his Clarence House's official Twitter that it has been a "strange, frustrating and often distressing experience when the presence of family and friends is no longer possible and the normal structures of life are suddenly removed."
