Confirming the passing of his 'best friend,' former 'Project Runway' winner Geoffrey Mac breaks down in tears in an Instagram video as he urges people to stay healthy 'because the virus is really real. '

AceShowbiz - Drag community is losing one of their own allegedly due to coronavirus. Nashom Wooden, a well-known drag performer in New York City who went by the name of Mona Foot, has passed away at 50 years old.

While the cause of death has not been officially confirmed, many have claimed that Nashom had tested positive for COVID-19 before his passing. One of his friends who have addressed his death on social media was "Project Runway" season 18 winner Geoffrey Mac.

Taking to his Instagram account, Geoffrey couldn’t hold back his tears as he shared the sad news. "Hi, it's Geoffrey Mac. I lost my best friend today from the coronavirus, Nashom Wooden," the fashion designer tearfully said.

Using the opportunity to remind everyone of the seriousness of the pandemic is, he added, "And I just want to make sure that everybody out there stays healthy and takes care of each other because the virus is really real. And, I'm just so sorry."

He captioned the video with "RIP @thenashom9000" and multiple broken heart emojis.

Many others are also mourning Nashom's death, with Club king Mario Diaz remembering him as "a beautiful gorgeous creature, an amazing artist and a friend for 25+ years." Mario added, "This virus has taken our dear Nashom Wooden..aka Mona Foot... When I think of you I will always see that beautiful smile. When I think of you I will always remember the powerhouse that was Mona Foot!"

Fellow drag queen Thorgy Thor posted on Instagram, "NYC drag Legend Mona Foot RIP. Died from COVID-19. Her reputation will stand forever. I heard stories before I worked in NY, during and will continue to tell stories about this incredible person forever. Thank you Mona for everything you contributed to NY and the globe. NASHAM WOODEN."

"My heart is broken right now," read another tribute post. "I can't believe this we lost Nashom Wooden (aka Mona Foot) @thenashom9000 to this f***ing atrocity of a virus! Ive known Nashom since I was a teenager. I adored & admired the iconic Mona Foot. I got lucky enough to get to know Nashom and become friends as an adult. We're both family members in the House of Feilds. I love you & will miss you my friend/my sister rest peacefully. You're ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS! PLEASE listen to the reports, STAY HOME, wash your hands, keep yourself safe! Love one another!"
