Expecting a documentary from the two journalists, a fan asks, 'I see Oprah and Gayle's homie got sentenced to 23 years in prison for sex crimes.... When that documentary coming out?'

AceShowbiz - Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King had their names trending on Twitter hours after it was revealed that Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison. People called for the two TV personalities to break their silence on the matter amid allegations that they only cover sexual assault accusations against men of color.

"Black Twitter is on Oprah and Gayle's a**," one tweeted on Wednesday, March 11. Alongside a GIF featuring Oprah, another fan wrote on the blue bird app, "As I wait for Oprah and Gayle to say something."

"Glad they kept the same energy with Harvey Weinstein as they did with Bill. #23Years," someone else sarcastically added. "Okay, Oprah and Gayle where's yall interview? Like, yall did with R. Kelly. We showing same energy to all."

Another fan, meanwhile, wrote, "Will Oprah still consider to open her mouth about her dear pal #HarveyWeinstein who now has been sentenced to 23 years of imprisonment. Now that the predator has been locked, it's time to hold the ones accountable, who enabled the pathetic actions of this man for so long." Expecting a documentary from the two journalists, one other asked, "I see Oprah and Gayle's homie got sentenced to 23 years in prison for sex crimes.... When that documentary coming out?"

Both Oprah and Gayle were accused of selectively covering news about sex crimes by only focusing on men of color, including R. Kelly, Michael Jackson and Kobe Bryant, while showing apparent support for Harvey Weinstein. Most recently, Gayle received huge backlash over her question regarding rape allegations leveled against the late NBA star. Among the critics were rappers Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent.

Calling Gayle a "funky dog head b***h" in an Instagram video, Snoop raged, "How dare you try to tarnish my motherf**king homeboy's reputation...? Respect the family and back off, b***h, before we come get you (sic)." The pointed warning led to King receiving a number of death threats, and Snoop subsequently apologized for his harsh words in a follow-up video, admitting he "overreacted" and was wrong for attacking her in a "derogatory manner based off of emotions (sic)."
