The former professional basketball player proudly re-introduces his daughter Zaya Wade on Instagram after both of them and Gabrielle attend the Truth Awards.

AceShowbiz - Dwyane Wade's child Zaya has made her first red carpet appearance after she came out as transgender. And there's no better event to make this statement than the Truth Awards, an annual ceremony dedicated to celebrating accomplishments of the black LGBTQ+ community, which was held on Saturday, March 7.

The 12-year-old was joined by both her father and stepmother Gabrielle Union that night. The trio wore matching custom coordinating Richfresh suits. Zaya was draped in a green suit jacket with black pants and a pink sash. Dwyane wore a mostly black suit with white color blocking and a pink shirt, while Gabrielle donned a mostly white suit with black color blocking and green straps underneath.

Posting on Instagram a photo of her daughter sashaying her way, Dwyane wrote in the caption, "Everyone allow her to re-introduce herself her name is Zaya Wade! Last night was Zaya's first red carpet and we couldn't have been prouder of how she handled the questions that were asked of her. She has emerged as one of the young faces and voices for the LGBTQ+ community. #truthawards."

In another post featuring a picture of the three of them, the retired professional basketball player shared, "Last night was a dope experience for our family." He went on promoting the event, "The Truth Awards was created to recognize and highlight the accomplishments of the Black LGBTQ+ community and its allies. In doing so, they increase the awareness of there contributions to Society, Popular Culture and the Arts, and help refocus the lens through which they are seen. The Truth Awards also provides funding for scholarships that supports educational opportunities for youth in the LGBTQ+ community!"

Gabrielle took to her own Instagram page to share a video of them walking together. "We keep moving forward. We keep leading with love, light, and hope for a better more inclusive world. Stay put and stay mad if you want. We keep it pushing. Always," she captioned it.

The former "America's Got Talent" judge added in another post, "It was important for Zaya to be a part of such a beautiful night & reminding her of all the love & support she has. We were moved to tears so many times throughout the night. So much gratitude."

Dwyane and Gabrielle have since been applauded for once again publicly showing their support for their transgender daughter. "So proud of Zaya and all of you for your strength and leadership," one wrote of the family. Another sang praise, your family is so beautiful n yall lead and progress the culture."

"Nothing Better Than Supportive Parents," another follower wrote of the couple. Someone else gushed about the trio's pictures, "And the category is family support / true love." Another chimed in, "She's a very lucky girl to have parents like that."

Though Zaya and her family have received outpouring support from public since Dwyane confirmed that she's a transgender, there are also still some naysayers. Reacting to the couple's posts, one commented, "That's crazy how they push agendas."

Another refused to acknowledge Dwyane's daughter, who was born Zion, as a girl, saying, "That's a boy." Another protested, "His name is not zaya n***a," while someone criticized the parent, "The kid is 12 WADE!!!"
